I do use that 90% of the time - but I have found sometimes cash is necessary… and you often need a physical card to fill up.

Today Wim and my old german friend Michael are on their way home. Later today we are waiting for Brownmouse, that time on the bike !!
As Wim wrote yesterday afetrnoon we explored my usual playground. 118 km of V shaping tires.
Here near Miolans Castle, after the nice “Col du Frêne”.
Here at the Revard on that frightening glass thing.
We also encountered some hooligans blocking the road

Well, sadly I’m on the “and back again” bit. I woke up pretty early and thought I’d sit outside and enjoy the morning light for a bit before the rest of the house stirred. I was in good company - “Lucky” AKA “Bagheera” joined me…
After some coffee and breakfast it was time to say goodbye to my by now good friends, Hubert and his lovely wife. Also to my new friend, Michael. I don’t like goodbyes.
What followed was a rather tedious slog up the pèage… nothing for it though, I want to be home by Sunday.
8 hours and 435 miles later I was in Northern Luxembourg…
A little under 200 miles to go tomorrow…

Final day, 182 miles. Total mileage 3069
An easy ride home. The first bit in Belgium was nice, after that just motorways. Left at 7.50, home by 11.15.
I really enjoyed this trip, save the obvious mishap!

A few years ago my ZZR1200 broke down in the Cévennes so we never got to our next stop, Draguignan. Nice round there anyway, you should find plenty of nice places to visit
Gorges du Verdon is top of the list!

Brilliant travelog again Wim, thanks for posting. It’s like we are there with you. I need to get my act together and have a go at something similar. As a side note, which crash bars are you using, I think at 70 years of age my paintwork and engine casings may be living on borrowed time…
