The latest issue of Bike magazine (UK publication) has their Bike Of The Year awarded. Whittled to a countdown of 20 bikes, here are Triumph’s placements.
- Trident 800
Traditional looks with a cheeky personality, Bit like a Street Triple that’s taken a chill pill and slipped into Grandad’s slacks. Its eager engineering and solid steering impressed us at the world launch, but it fell slightly flat against Yamaha’s surging, stupendously silly MT-01 in the group test.
- Street Triple RX
Fitting farewell to the 765 platform, if rumours are true. With clip-ons (think 90’s sports bike, not wrist-wrecking race rep) and sublime Ohlins forks, Triumph created the best-handling Street Triple ever. And, thankfully, without turning it into a stripped Daytona. Looks stunning, reeks of kquality, and such a joy to ride. Sets the bar insanely high for wherever the Street Triple ever goes next…
