after a bit of advice on my speed triple sat on it with the front brake applied rock backwards and forwards there is definitely movement and a slight clunk. I thought head race bearings jacked up the bike no movement in the forks whatsoever. I then noticed if I grab hold of the outer disc it will rock back and forth on the bobbins about 2 mm is that normal or should they be rock solid. do bobbins wear out and I need new discs bikes done 26000. as a comparison I tried the same on my speed twin no movement whatsoever.
I don’t currently own a bike with floating discs mounted on bobbins… but my recollection is that the bobbins allow “axial” movement, helping to align the disc, pads and calliper better in variable conditions.
Rotational movement of the outer part of the disc compared to the inner spider should be limited (each machine probably has its own tolerance) if you’re getting a couple of mm’s movement at the bobbins, that suggests to me that it’s time for new discs… that clunking noise is also a reasonable tell tale.
Without the appropriate Speedy manual, I’m only guessing… but I think it’s shopping time!

not cheap are they Brembos over £300 from Italy plus import duty Chinese one’s £140. , found a used genuine set eBay 9000 miles £80 gone for them
Best of luck with them, I wouldn’t have thought they would be bad with that mileage (unless they’re off a track bike)
