Just a quick look suggests it’s more of a solder/hot glue effect. Not any integration of the 2 sides you are joining. It may work for what you want, but I suspect you’ll be redoing it after 500 miles

It’s a solder of some sort and no reason why it shouldn’t work. The trick is allowing it to key to mixed metals as I’ve found that not all fluxes work on all metals. Some solders come with flux inside the core so you may have to inquire more about that. Don’t go with that seller though as they’ve low achievement of experience if you need help.

I have mig welding kit that works with ally wire but these mudguards are way too thin.
Hard to picture exactly what you’re doing, but can you strategically rivet and then solder over to smooth out? (Especially if it’s more visual than practical?)
Or could the item be 3D printed, then finished to look metallic?

Oh I’m just shortening the mudguard I have to A, get rid of some ugly holes and B, make it more visually appealing. C, retain the folded round bit at the end.
I’ll probably use some of the material I take out to reinforce joint.
Yeah I’m not interested in plastic mudguards but now I want to be a Mandalorian.
