I think it would have been better if the opening post had come from an individual biker fronting the organisation. Not the corporate opening that has been posted?
Their intro seems open, honest and sincere and they appear to know and understand the rules so I, personally, see no harm in what they’ve done. As long as it stays that way then they have the potential to be hugely beneficial to the forum and its members … IMHO.
This forum was (by and large) ‘born’ out of conflict and division and has done the finest of jobs to overcome all that and grow to become a great community.
The clue’s in the word “community”. Give 'em a chance.
Although I am yet to purchase anything from Webike myself, the Japanese 2-stroke community in the UK and beyond often talk about good deals with Webike on rare parts such as RD350LC fuel tanks. Shipping can be expensive so it pays to look out for shipping offers too.
I got a PM response from ‘Tomi’ this morning saying they understood and would respect how the forum operates as a community.
I agree that having some friendly bike companies on board could be a useful addition. It would be nice to have a few Triumph dealers hanging out but I think the TOMCC is their focus.
I don’t disagree with anything you have said @AdieP. My point is we are as you say a community of like minded individuals, so I felt it would have been more in line with forum values had they made their introduction with an individual biker fronting their organisation and not their corporate opening.
I’m sure they will provide an extra dimension to the forum, which will be welcomed.
And you are right to remind us of where the forum came from.
