I am so very sorry @geoffb, losing a pet is so difficult. I hope that in time the fantastic memories outweigh the sadness.

I’m sad to say that Amber was put to sleep this morning. She was found to have a large gastric/intestinal mass. She had been the most loving dog and we will cherish the 12 years we had with her.

Sad news mate. I know how much it hurts  Remember all the great times and all the love/fun you all enjoyed.

Commiserations, it’s a sad day when we lose our four-legged friends.

Sincere commiserations. There’s something particularly poignant and sad about losing a well loved pet - especially a faithful one. My cat is more than 12 years old so she’s now in the ‘range’ for average mortality - though she is, thankfully, in rude health at the moment. I do utterly dread what I know is inevitable as I’ll lose more than a pet - she’s a real soul mate and constant companion now.

So sad to hear. We could never have another when we lost our Wessa. His name lives on though, so never forgotten

She looked like the lovely dog you describe.
Everyone that have been through that know that it’s not as simple as losing a pet. 12 years of daily love and dedication.
