I don’t often drink beer at home as I prefer cask bitter in the pub but I normally keep some in for visitors. As I was in Asda on Friday I thought I’d pick up some bottles of Black Sheep Bitter to have with my nibbles over Christmas. At £1.80 per bottle I thought I’d look elsewhere so I went to Morrisons and was distraught too find it priced at £2.00 per bottle !!! FFS !!!. I knew Aldi didn’t sell it anymore so today I went to Lidl to get my breakfast pretzl and lo and behold they are selling my choice Black Sheep at £1.49 per bottle. I feel much calmer now and I’m looking forward to Christmas.
Just thought I’d pass this money saving tip on. Stay tuned for more top tips.
There are a couple of local breweries around here and a specialist craft beer bar/shop. Otherwise there are a couple of supermarket staples I pick up.
I feel a thirst coming on!
Morrisons generally have a four for the price of three. So around £1.50ish each. Usually a good selection too.
Tesco has clubcard offer of 4 for £6…
Andy……I would buy some more and freeze them for next year.
They are bound to go up again….
Must admit I like both those beers.
I get that one sometimes as well.
Nice. I usually flush my logs down the toilet. I used to dry and burn them but we don’t have an open fire in our present house.
I’ve been to Tesco today, a supermarket I try my best to avoid, to get some grapefruit juice. My local supermarkets don’t stock it. And guess what ? Tesco have Black Sheep at £1.49 per bottle with a sticker saying it’s price matching Aldi which I found surprising as my local Aldi hasn’t stocked B Sheep for yonks. So I addrd to my stock and I’ll be popping down to Aldi later in the week to see what’s what.
If you have a Costco within reach try a box of Badger, Dorset Brewers bottled ales. Three of each of these for less than £15.
As of Monday these will be £12.58 inc VAT for three weeks.
They wouldn’t last 3 weeks in my house…
That is the problem with special offers, you don’t actually save any money, just drink/eat more.
Two UKP a bottle?? That’s Happy Hour in my country!
That’s my main tipple these days. Seriously smooth caramel taste yum yum. Think I got Saul into that one!
Not 2 UKP but 1.05 GBP so even better.
