T’ole ’int tyre…

Following the subject of a hole in my tyre with steel threads sticking out on my R nineT

I decided to see what the cause was and replace it with another tyre. In the meantime I needed to convert the wheel to tubeless as it’s the laced type and a popular conversion. I had already done the front the previous year so i didn’t mind too much receiving the damage in the tyre. Well the damage turned out to be a historic puncture repair and it must have damaged the cords very early on. As the tyre aged with mileage it became visible. So the tubeless conversion was piss easy. Clean rim centre, wash prime (acid etch) and plaster the rim in PU sealer (in this case remaining windscreen bonder) then let it cure 48hrs then new angled valve and tyre on!
