I don’t have a route, I’m going to make it up as I go and as the weather blows. Don’t know what happens if you answer the question ‘No’ to the question ‘Do you have proof of accommodation’ and I don’t want to find out, so I’m booking something for every night of stay. (Then cancelling after through border control.) If you have a camper then I guess you can prove you have accommodation, you’re driving it 
Yes, it’s for non EU citizens, we need to be finger printed, faced scanned, and prove we have return ticket, accommodation, and living expenses. Or rather, we need to say we have those things and if questioned be prepared to prove it. I don’t fancy lying even though I imagine as a white European who appears, and is, of British decent, that border people wouldn’t challenge me.

What a palaver… 
My Aussie cousins have knocked UK off their European tour because they can’t get in without a UK passport in addition to their Aussie ones… Something to do with their UK origins and Aussie citizenship.
Total farce, they can’t get in, but so many other (illegal) visitors can!

I’m Mostly at Heathrow heading for Crete .
Got through customs and baggage drop off easily .
From what I have seen Greece has said no to this Visa palaver .
Let’s hope it’s as easy when we get to the other end . Destination Chania and then over the mountains to Agia Galini .

And reverse. Now to go to UK we needed to get a valid ESTA.
Brexit changed a lot of things and unleashed some antipathic behaviors… I have some examples but not sure it’s the right place to tell that. Unfortunately for the “karens” we speak english, have a good sense of humour, and never backstep confrontations.

If you think EES is bad, just wait until they introduce ETIAS later this year. This is what you’ll need to supply, unless of course you arrive by inflatable across the Mediterranean

Details about your level of education and current occupation;

Details about your intended travel and stay in any of the countries requiring ETIAS;

Unlike the EU burocrats he Greeks love the Brits and realise just how much we contribute to their economy so have told the EU to FRO with their EES until after the peak season which has subsequentlyseen a big rise in Brits going to Greece for their holibobs. Portugal seem to be getting the idea too as to just how damaging this is to their tourist industry. I travelled to Spain via Faro recently and going into Portugal, unless you had already used EES they wouldn’t let you use the machines and you just went through passport control, though it did take longer than usual. Coming back we arrived 3 hrs befote our flight took off as we use Jet2 which allows you to check in earlierr that Easyjet or Ryanair, paid for the fast track through security and there were enough boarder staff on to deal with routing people either through EES or via the manual system and a reasonable number of passport booths open so we got through fairly quickly even though Monday mornings are a busy period. Funnily enough it took us longer to get through boarder control in the UK when we got back, even though we used the electronic gates.

Which time?
Do more illegal immigrants come through standard travel channels like airports, or via other means, like inflatables or secret compartments in trucks?
Just thought I’d ask because I genuinely didn’t know…
That’s exactly a reason why my daughter’s husband would like to get a french passport. Every time they fly to visit us, he’s stuck in the non EU lane 
The changes made at the board in the EU has really had an impact on travel there. As a long time rider on trips to Europe I’m seriously thinking I’m no longer going to bother. There are so many good touring roads in the UK and Ireland, where I think they will appreciate my investing my money to there local area.
No withstanding our European members who are lovely people, I say fuck the EU they don’t deserve my money.

I can understand your point of view. I’m not into the same scheme. I keep on traveling to UK (not only because my daughter lives there) but mainly because I love that country, a certain way of life, the pop culture etc etc… As I wrote upper we have (rarely) encounter some antipathic/xenophobic behaviors, but it happens, last time was in April, just because the car has a french plate number.
The recent political tendency in UK will unleash those behaviors a bit further.
My daughter lives in your country for 10 years now, and no one can spot any accent, but time to time she faces some “strange” remarks if someone knows she is french.. (rip to those )
The only country I already visited, and I refuse to visit so far things are not changing is USA, and I work for a US cie for 24 years…

All due to Brexit. Ending free movement means ending free movement, I’m afraid. Cuts both ways.
I don’t imagine I’ll be travelling to continental Europe again, but it’s nice to know that I qualify for an Irish passport. And, of course, perhaps Scotland will be rejoining soon…

Love it - we Scots rebel against Westminster but seem to welcome Brussels!
Anyway… I’m in the USA at the moment, the ESTA had more questions including parents details and last employer (I’m retired 10 years!) but now that I’m here the people are just as welcoming as ever.
The 20th Century seemed to pull us together, the 21st Century is forcing us apart. Sad really.

We landed in Chania got off the aircraft and got through Passport control in about 15 minutes. Cases back in our hands within half an hour of getting off the plane.
No fuss, no drama no visa enquiries at all .

I’d like to say yes to nice routes in the uk but a big no to the condition of our roads. Wonder what the mindset of Scandinavia’s is like…
