It is very good; that was a bacon and brie panini
.
Hard to get past a bacon, brie (and cranberry) panini. Yum, my favourite!! ![]()
Don’t know what kind of magic oil they’ve put in the Honda at the thousand km service, but the consumption dropped from 5L/100 down to 4,2L/100.
Maybe there is also a run-in map? Don’t know..
Superveloce service day. Beautiful day to be out on a bike, even if it is just a 30 mile round trip. The MV feels so tiny and light after 500 miles on the fully loaded Sprint GT this week.
This was when I stopped for a few minutes. Even on the ride it never dropped below 33 Celsius.
If I took my F4 out in 36 degrees of heat it would just shrug its shoulders, hiss and start the fan ….Before I’d put the key in the ignition…!
It’s the only Italian I know that doesn’t like the sun/ heat….
Think I’ve been to that one on my rides in the past
A couple of hours on the 1981 LC today in 30 degree Welsh Wales ![]()

Single track roads up and over Hay Bluff with stunning views of the mountains silhouetted against the pure blue skies ![]()
This weekend Helmut and I took our Ducatis to WSBK at Donington Park; we got tickets to the weekend in exchange for putting our bikes on the Ducati Owners’ Club display stand. We arrived on Friday morning, bright and early, set up our tent (in the outfield camping this year, the infield was sold out as I left it too late to book!). The outfield was actually very nice for camping and not too much of a walk into the circuit.
We had an absolutely excellent and extremely hot weekend, with some fabulous racing and entertainment in the paddock. Some British riders had some absolutely rotten luck, but some cracking results as well.
The only small negative was that something had been dragged past my bike on the stand I think as there was blue paint scraped across one of the panniers, but luckily no damage to the bike itself. I have to admit that we both had a little bit of anxiety about being so far away from our bikes, especially at night, but lots of people stayed at the stand camping all night so in reality they were probably safer than in the outfield camping. The photos were taken very early on - there were a huge amount of bikes on the stand by Sunday.
Sounds like a brilliant break!
If it’s paint on top of the surface some sort of solvent might get it off. A friend of SWMBO scraped her car against her garage door post and the white paint transferred across onto her car. I used some panel wipe on a microfibre cloth to get it off. If you don’t have any you could try some WD40 applying it on a small test area 1st.
Back on the Honda after 10 days without riding (excessively tired, I need some vacations).
It’s a rainy day (halelluja), so let’s try that “rain mode”.. hmm.. after 5 minutes of too safe riding, back to “full power mode” ![]()
I also took my tools to pimp the NT1100.
A Fiamm freeway blaster (17 Eur) gonna replace the original legal weak horn. The Fiamm won’t cause heart attack to erratic drivers, but it’s louder and an element of security for me.
Then I mounted the confort foot peg for my wife.
I paid them with the bike end of May, but Honda dealer only received them a few days ago (I think someone there forgot to order them).
Huge difference compared with the original foot peg. On a touring bike that shouldn’t be optional.
Out with a group of friends for a “gentle blast” around Central Scotland, north through Crieff, The Sma’ Glen and Aberfeldy and back along Loch Tay to Killin then home. 148 miles of fun!
The Woodhouse for breakfast!
Ducati Monster, Honda CB1300, Triumph Bonneville T100, Honda CL500, BMW S1000R and BMW R12nineT at the Sma’ Glen.
One of a few coffee stops!
CL500 and CB500F Hornet at rest after a morning coffee ride grew into a 134miles day ride around West Central Scotland!
Today I just had a nice little 77 mile whizz about on my Hyperstrada after I woke up from my night shift, with a stop at one of my very favourite cafes. I like my new tyres - Michelin Road 6s - which is a good job!! Before today, they had only gone to Donington which was mostly motorway.
That wall in the background is a work of art and a thing of great beauty. Seriously.
The guy that lived in our house built it when he built the big house behind it. His brother in law lived in the house next door to ours and they didn’t get on, so a bit further down the wall is full of broken house bricks and any old tat. So the view from their kitchen was awful! It’s now covered in shrubs ![]()
I went seeking out more stamps for my Bike and Brew passport today, 213 miles done on my beautiful Blade flying about…or crawling from Welshpool towards home with the sheer amount of traffic, all of it determined not to top 40mph it seemed
.
Before my first night shift on Thursday, I rode about 50 ish miles to meet my friend on her 125 to go for a ride and then came home again
. I took the beautiful Blade and had a lovely trip over, she managed to go much further than last time, so progress is being made
. 127 miles done for me in total
.
