Nice little circular run out to Morville, Craven Arms, Woofferton then home while the weather holds. Tried out some Rukka gloves I bought off another forum and strangley my tingly fingers were absent today so going to remove the grip puppies as the heated grips were not as hot as I remember without them fitted. No pics as I didn’t stop, apart from when in queuing traffic, but who wants to see a B*W anyway ![]()
I had a sit on a nice 1250 GS at Sytner a couple of days ago. Quite nice, but to much money for a two year old bike.
Looked after GS’ do fetch a decent price, which is useful if you’re trading one in and buying new. They sell all year round too, all 3 of mine were sold in January or February when I traded them in. The 2 year approved warranty probably helps too.
I agree Ade, but I am leaning towards a 1200 Gt Pro. Just waiting for an appointment to test ride. Some decent deals on at the moment. I will keep my 900 for local rides and winter hack.
TBH unless the GS was the one you wanted after test riding both if it were a choice between a used GS and a new Tiger I think I’d opt for the Triumph even though it coukd cost more in depreciation in the long term as most GS’ are bought on a PCP so you’re never quite sure how it’s been treated. Bike sales will be grinding to a halt now so they’ll be desperate to sell you a new Triumph especially if they have one in stock as you’ve got no trade in they could then have your old bike in their showroom until next spring. Might be worth seeing if you’ll get a better deal on a PCP, then settling up within the cooling off period as I’ve done that with my last 2 cars to get stuff like a manufacturers contribution and free servicing. Might even be worth waiting until January so you get a 2026 registered bike and see what they’ll knock off if you have it then rather than wait until 1st March for the new plate?
All valid points Ade. You may not have factored in my impatience! PCP deal is no good to me, we ride 12,000+ miles a year and the penalties are awesome…
Took the Honda out to get my flu jab. Wet roads, mashed leaves, I was very careful.
At the “Pharmacie” a young guy took care of my jab. And in the little room. He asked me “is it not too cold ?” I said no, and he insisted “I mean on the motorcycle” ![]()
I could read between the lines “at your age why don’t you drive a car” ![]()
Next week they should have the covid ones. can’t wait to arrive on my bike.
Looks like my 1200 test ride is to be next week, the 2 dealerships share the demonstrators and it’s being brought across next Tuesday. I have left a modest, returnable deposit to reserve the last red one available at the current deal. This has really gone off topic and into a Triumph thread, for which I apologise.
Fiddling with a spare TL 125 engine. Taking the clutch out to see if it’s useable in the bike when I come to put it together, and just generally taking stuff apart and putting it back together ![]()
Also hung an AI generated oil painting style picture my mate presented me with yesterday ![]()
That’s pretty bloody good. I’m liking the AI generated stuff.
Do the lookalike brush strokes actually have a 3D feel or is it a flat 2D picture?
It has a texture but I wouldn’t say it was like brush strokes, more like a canvas print.
Still very cool though…a nice picture to have up in the garage.
Permission was denied to put it in the living room ![]()
