I’ve had chance to look at the problem with the original tank. It has a white film tank sealer in it. When I drained the last dreggs of fuel out it had a milky colour. Looking in the tank with a light, I can see cracks in the sealer. Probably why the repair? Has started leaking. So I need to get the sealer out.

Any ideas?

This is what my workshop looks like at the moment

Which is why nothing is happening very quickly.:grimacing:

Had the Moto Morini running on the new (Gold) tank today. It really was a lucky find, a quick swill out with petrol was all that was needed. It’s really clean and rust free inside.

Supposed to be nice handling machines, how’d you find it

I bought it from a collection, the owner was moving abroad. I’ve recommissioned it but really there was very little wrong with it.

I am a fan of Italian bikes, I have 2 others.

I’ve just fitted this Wolfline rack off eBay - I’m sure it’s the usual Chinese unit, but with UK stock it was here in 3 days instead of what I assume could be 3 weeks… or more… from China, and the price was competitive with the usual places.

Sunday actually…

No photos so

It obviously didn’t happen … Up early and took the windy back roads to The Slimy Sausage … But I was in the car, as bikes not yet MOT’d.

Amazingly found some of the roads had been resurfaced … Brought back memories of yesteryear when the roads were maintained …!

Left at 06.45 and back home before 09.30 just as the cyclists were taking over the highways and byways … perfect.

I’ve just replaced the cam belt on the Moto Morini. Supplied by Mdina Italia a great source of classic Italian parts and had to buy a new tool a 27mm/24mm flywheel puller. This completes the servicing and it’s all ready for summer. And at some point I’ll fix the red tank and get it back to the correct colour.:smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Just to finish off the new rack… £5 worth of rubber plugs to seal the fixing holes! Good old Amazon, not a single accessory shop, bike shop or hardware store could help.
