I’ve did things in my mother’s R5 GTL I can’t talk about there… But we were only two (you kinky ) … And I married the other one.
At least it was shaped like a tent
In my younger days I owned a couple of Renaultsport Clio’s - a 182 Cup and a 200 with Cup chassis. They were bloody brilliant little cars
I remember taking the 200 to a track day at Le Mans. Drove all the way down, spent a day thrashing it around the Bugatti circuit with a mate and drove back the following day. It never missed a beat.
I think it’s just pot luck with cars, but there’s no such thing as a genuinely bad new car these days.
My Mum had a Clio and loved it. Not sure that’s much of an endorsement round here…
See above that was 2015…not a million years ago.
My lad bought a Clio when he left Uni. it cost him £1050 from a local Clio specialist and he ran it for 4 years without any breakdowns. He had to spend £250 getting it through the last mot and once that was up a year later sold it for £500 to the scrap yard. Cheap reliable motoring if you get the right one.
at the time Renault did very very reliable engines, all based on the old “Cleon” engine, we could find into R4 R8, etc.
My father always had Renault 8 (not Gordini, Major), and did some easy job on the engine.
Ha was able to reach over 140 km/h in his tin box.
Thanks everyone loads of info there. Only thing is she is now looking at the fords. Possibly Puma as she has the CMax and they look quite similar.
Joe.
