It may well be encrypted, which can make it extremely difficult to access. It would undoubtedly invalidate a warranty but I wonder what they could do about it otherwise? The answer is probably that they’ve locked it down so it’s a moot point.

The very fact that we’re having this conversation tells me they’ve got it wrong.
No opinion from me as I don’t understand any of this new fangled stuff. The 1980 project I’m doing has a switch in the outer cover of the gearbox for a neutral light - blimey whatever next? - which I’ll obviously remove.
