It was 21 years ago that Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman set off from London, England on their specially prepared BMW R1150GS machines to complete their epic circumnavigation of the globe, the long way round.
The 18,887 mile (30,396 km) journey took them through twelve countries, starting in the UK and riding across France, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Canada, arriving in New York on 29th July 2004.
