Back in 1920 on this day, Leslie Parkhurst broke four professional world records for 1 kilometre, 1, 2 and 3 miles, on a (wait for it…) Harley-Davidson at Ormund Beach in Daytona, Florida.
Leslie became Harley-Davidson’s the first factory rider when he signed with them in 1914. During his successful career, Leslie would ride his victory lap carrying the team’s mascot, a small pig, helping to secure Harleys enduring association with ‘hogs’.
