15 July - Max Deubel Wins The Sidecar World Champion

At the Solitude circuit in 1962, Max Deubel and his co-driver, Emil Hörner, won the West German sidecar grand prix with their 500cc BMW and retained their FIM World Sidecar Championship title.

The pair were on top form having become the first sidecar duo to lap the TT circuit at over 90mph the previous month.

Max and Emil would go on to win the 1963 and 1964 championshiops before retiring in 1966.
