Victory, still in the fight for a share of Harley Davidson’s market, sought to impress at the New York Motorcycle Show in 2009 with this concept bike.
nice style but why designing a bike than is clearly not made to ride ?
Nice and useless imho.
Is that seat an actual plank of wood?
Try as they might Polaris’ Victorys never really made that much of a dent into Harley’s throne even with Ness’s custom designs. I believe the poeple who bought them really liked them.
So Polaris brought back Indian and ditched Victory. Indian are doing quite well I believe - they were given a leg up recently by Harley’s woke CEO.
Indians also still have air cooled v-twins available. Harley, however, are delving into 400cc bikes built in India. Good grief.
Sounds familiar.
I’ve commented in the past about Triumph losing their prestige image… (IMO)
But could say the same for many others, BMW, etc etc.
I think KTM proves that there isn’t enough of a living to be made from selling expensive bikes which not many people can afford, as Vincent-HRD found as long ago as 1955. Lower cost bikes for the huge Asian market seems to be the way to go.
I personally couldn’t give two hoots about image - I just like the looks and performance of my Triumphs. There’s something special about that 3 cylinder sound and grunt. I’ve ridden a (speed) twin once, and liked that too…
That seems to be the way. I’ve just read that Royal Enfield exported 50,000 bikes per year in 2010.
They now sell 70,000 a month in India alone.
Me neither, obviously - I’ve just bought a BMW
I found it interesting that H-D distanced itself from the well regarded Livewire electric bike by rebranding it to a new separate company. I wonder, if they’re going to make small capacity bikes, if they’ll do the same.
So, Triumphs better then Harleys, then.
Pope revealed to be a Catholic. Bears found defecating in woods…
