It’s Giacomo Agostini’s birthday. In 1942 he began his journey to become a legend of motorcycle racing.
Born in Brescia, Italy, he competed in the FIM Grand Prix motorcycle racing world championships from 1963 to 1977, most prominently as a member of the MV Agusta factory racing team.
Ago amassed 122 Grand Prix wins and 15 World Championship titles. Of these, 68 wins and 8 titles came in the 500 cc class, the rest in the 350 cc class. He competed in 16 TT races, part of the championship back the and won 10 of them.
