17 May - Lights Out for the 1959 Grand Prix

MV Agusta dominated all season.

The season started on this day in France (Charade Circuit). followed by the Isle of Man (TT Mountain Course), German round at Hockenheim (Hockenheimring), the Dutch TT (Assen), the Belgian GP at Spa ( Spa-Francorchamps), a trip to Sweden (Råbelövsbanan), back to Northern Ireland for the Ulster GP, and finally over to Italy to finish the season in Italy Monza.

Italy was a fitting finale for MV Agusta with John Surtees winning every round of the 500cc and 350cc class.
