Fifty years after her father, Alfonso, founded the manufacturer, Gabriella Morini sold an ailing Moto Morini to Cagiva, owned by the Castigioni family, on this day in 1987 having received assurances about the brand’s importance to them. Unfortunately, the name continued to decline with litte new development put in to new bikes. In 1996 it was sold again, along with Ducati, to the Texas Pacific Group,
