23 June - Bruno Kneubühler Wins at Assen

In 1973, the Dutch TT at Assen, the Cathedral of Speed, was having its reputation stretched with the hard fought race in the 50cc class. Aboard the winning machine was Bruno Kneubühler, a Swiss rider in his second year in Grand Prix, who became one of the few riders to compete in all GP classes. In his 17 year career, from the 50cc tiddlers right up to the 500cc bikes via 125’s, 250’sand 350’s, Kneubühler raced everyone from Giacomo Agostini to Mick Doohan.

The winning bike in 1973 was a long-forgotten Kreidler.
