In 2013, BMW completed the sale of Husqvarna to Pierer Industrie, owner of KTM, and later that year the whole kit and kaboodle became a subsidiary of KTM itself, which is where it stilll sits…for now.
BMW apparently had aspirations of Husqvarna being their bike equvalent of the Mini. Presumably someone eventually saw sense and put the ‘for sale’ sign up at the factory.
