This is American racing legend, Jim Davis, who started riding motorcycles when he was 11 and earned his first factory ride, with Indian, aged 19 in 1915. He went on to win 21 AMA National Championships and more than 50 non-AMA titles; a record that will never be equalled. By the time Jim retired in 1936 he had raced in more than 1,500 events and covered 30,000 competition miles. Not only did he survive the board-track era, he survived into the 21st century, passing away in 2000 at the ripe old age of 103.
