9 November.- Harley-Davidson Factory Officially Historic

Harley-Davidson began in a backyard shed behind the Davidson family home, where William S. Harley and Arthur Davidson built three motorcycles in 1903.

At the end of 1905, Harley and Davidson applied for and received a loan to build a factory. They purchased land at what is now Juneau Avenue in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and began constructing the Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Factory Building in 1906, producing 50 motorcycles that year. The historic factory was added to the National Register of Historic Places on this day in 1994.
