A big shout out for our forum

We all frequent fora, and most of the time we enjoy them. For some reason this one seems different and more intimate. Through the “other” forum, and by extention this one, I’ve met some great guys I’ve travelled with, and am still in contact with. Others have mediated in purchases, even have sent me free tools.

Now, when I had my mishap earlier this year I was quite moved by the great responses and good wishes on here. But when I mentioned my mrs. mishap, and she’s not even on here, even more followed. And then, today, much to our surprise, these were delivered today:

From an esteemed member of our little community who shall remain unnamed for privacy purposes.

It’s rare for an internet community to cross into real life. For me (us) it happened, for which I’m very grateful. Thank you all.

You’re right Wim. I’ve been catching up on a few threads on here after a pretty long absence, and this forum clearly contains a higher standard of user than others I’ve viewed. I think it’s because you’re far less likely to get some random American popping up with a question about his TR6 fuffle valve before fucking off back into the ether. They just clutter the other place up, hapless gits.

I find it homely without the mass of riffraff compared to TTF

You definitely get a better class of riffraff on here…
