A long weekend in Cumbria

We’re not here on bikes this time but still, Coniston is a 15 minute walk down the old railway line so we’ll explore around there today. Damp but not cold. A fine autumn day. The view from the lounge is pretty good.

Good arrows Saul. Not taking a stroll to the top of the Old Man then?

Not today. Maybe tomorrow.

Recommended. Good walk.

A bit more Cumbria. I keep thinking of the glorious sunshine from @Dustywheels post but it is what it is.

l mean, if you want a scenic walk at low level but with great views across to the some of the bigger fells, Google Tarn Hows. Easy enough but surprisingly rewarding. :slightly_smiling_face:

The autumn sun had all but banished the mist by the time we locked up the cottage and headed for one last walk down by to Coniston Water. We said goodbye to the locals…

…took one last looks at the spectacular countryside…

…and that was that. Looking forward to going back on the bikes, hopefully next year.
