A Request for Forum Feedback for 2026

Since you asked …

I open and read the forum pretty much every day - the only real exception being that, as I don’t use my phone for access to forums (fora?) and the like, if I’m away from home for any reason then I don’t usually bother.

I can think of nothing I’d want to suggest as worthy of change or improvement, though I do occasionally find myself seeing unread topics that I’ve somehow managed to overlook - nope, no idea how or why but it’s not a big deal and is, no doubt, a function of my personal I.T. illiteracy and incompetence … a state of being with which I’m entirely comfortable and happy.

I’d DEFINITELY and wholeheartedly echo the sincere thanks to the “admin staff” (to borrow a phrase from the IRON man) who clearly work very hard behind the scenes to bring us a forum that is richly varied, well presented and impeccably well run and managed. No mean feat when it’s all unpaid and, generally, unsung! So, “THANK YOU”!

No suggestions from me as I am more than happy with the way the forum works except one, I have probably missed how we can add all the previous places to visit to the map. Can instructions be added to the Map item?
All praise to the admin staff for doing a sterling job. It must be exhausting with all the work Saul puts in and I for one am extremely grateful for all you do.

Good shout. I’ll put that together and update on how to use the new, user-interactive version.

That’s a good point @Alfie :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
I too am very happy with the forum as is and so grateful for @Octoberon creating/maintaining a great place to be

When a post has been edited the old version should not be available for all to see, that’s the reason you edit something.

This can be changed in the site settings. As it stands, users have 5 minutes to edit something after posting before the forum logs it as a previous version. The reason for the default setting is to avoid this sort of thing.

Everyone’s replies: Yeah, completely right!

A_Person (edited post): BMW’s are brilliant, Triumphs suck and all Triumph riders are losers!

Personally, I prefer the transparency but I’ll go with the majority vote from the regulars.
