Bent gear lever

What’s the advice for straightening a bent gear lever?

Personally, i’d get the rubber boot off, get out a heat/gas flame gun and get busy with a hammer and vice?
All off the bike of course!!

As above, definitely heat and let it cool naturally, no quenching.

Yep, fire is the way

Use a nice long ring spanner hooked on the end to bend it. Plenty of leverage and keeps your pinkies away from the heat :slightly_smiling_face:

I do own a blowtorch and a hammer but I haven’t got a workbench and vice set up in the garage, so maybe @Tigcraft will be getting a call…

My solution to these kind of problems is always the same - pay someone who knows what they’re doing

Steel or alloy?
