Britain’s most interesting roads…but not necessarily for bikers

I wonder how many of these have been ridden or are known to the forum? Some are definitely familiar - Snake Pass (excellent), A303 (dull).

Glad Hardknott made it in there, a worthy addition from Cumbria… but I’d add the A6 Shap section! Too many truckers tales to ignore… but awash with history since the Middle Ages!

Here’s an hour long retrospective of Shap and the A6. Having nursed around Kendal for many years, I’ve heard several Shap tales myself… so if you have the time, and don’t mind a bit of old school, gentle entertainment… give it a watch!
(I’m slightly disappointed there wasn’t more talk of using “Aberdeen Overdrive”, a truckers trick I’ve heard of a couple of times… basically coasting in neutral down a steep hill to pick up speed and push you up some of the way of the next uphill section, before slipping it back in gear to drive onwards… possibly the cause of a few mishaps)

Spot the similarities to the League of Gentlemen
