Took the Guzzi out today through Northallerton to Thirsk for a lunch stop. (A chip butty from the excellent White Rose cafe in the market square).
From there on to Helmsley via Wass Bank, a scenic alternative to Sutton Bank) where you stumble across the ruins of Byland Abbey as you turn a corner.
