Castle Rising

This place is only about 20 miles from me, but I’ve never been before. It’s an English Heritage site.

It’s a 12th century castle which became a royal residence and was home to Queen Isabella from 1330, the mother of Edward III. Following that it was used as a hunting lodge by Edward, Prince of Wales (The Black Prince) who was the eldest son of Edward III. Quite an interesting place.

The royals have always done themselves rather well for accommodation, a feature which hasn’t changed much.
That’s a beautiful looking bike, Neal. Are you still happy with it?

Yes, very happy with the Speed Twin. It’s a lovely looking machine and I’m much happier with it than my previous Speed Triple, it’s plenty fast enough for me and just seems to better suit my riding style. This one’s definitely a keeper
