Tiger all loaded up ready for departure tomorrow morning. I’ll be heading up through Germany, Denmark and Sweden touching on the Arctic Circle, then down through Finland and the Baltic States, from where I will board a ferry to Kiel, and home from there.
Safe travels and enjoy!
Good luck and safe trip Wim.
Have a brilliant time!!!
Cheers Steve!
Thanks! (Some more flags to stick on the top box..)
How long you giving yourself? I want daily reports, routes, accommodation etc, that’s a trip I want to do
Have fun with it dude! I second the call for regular updates!
Have a great time, hope weather is kind to you.
I reckon two weeks should suffice - 2,5 at most. I’ll update daily! My routes through Finland are mostly thanks to the brilliant tips I got from @Arctic_fox !
Good luck Wim! Have a safe, wonderful trip and, yes, we want updates
Cheers buddy, I’ll oblige!
Looking forward to another one of Wim’s excellent travel logs!
Day 1
Left early and pointed Tiger towards Germany. Save some heavy traffic around Hamburg all was plain sailing to Puttgarden, Germany from where I booked my ferry to Rødby.
A 45 minute crossing, and I found myself in Denmark. I booked a place to stay about 60 miles from the ferry. Once off the motorway the countryside is really pretty here.
Digs for tonight:
Then of course a flag added to the collection…
And now:
400 miles is a good days riding Wim.. The weather looks good as well. I found Denmark a bit flat, but as you say some pretty spots.
It is - I’d call it “undulated” rather than hilly. Weather’s good though, that’s always a win!
We’ll be looking forward to yours next month, too!
It’s probably more “undulated” than Holland…!
Have a brilliant trip.
day 2
Left early, and made for “the bridge”. No pictures as you can’t stop on it, but impressive!
Into Sweden on some nice roads.
A nice castle, too:
Very pretty countryside.
Then to stay with friends.
Good day.
Day 3
Started the day with some coffee, and got on the road. No motorways, just N roads, which are good - great surfaces, and very little traffic. The area I’m in currently is not that good for views though, as most roads cut through the dense forests. Every so often you catch a glimpse of a nice lake.
A lock in a small town…
Another glimpse…
Now in a “Stuga” in the small town of Norberg. Further North tomorrow!
