On that note, my old VW had a strop the other week and I had to buy another car quickly to get me to work. Bought a neighbour’s Golf diesel estate. £20 a year VED! that’s a saving of nearly 250 sovs a year for me. So I’ve got the bulk of my winter fuel allowance back without really trying…
That would be a valid point if 100% of it went back into the roads opposed to funding shortfalls elsewhere
It hasn’t been road tax for ages. It’s Vehicle Excise Duty, and receiving it doesn’t obligate the govt to spend it on roads. It’s more like the tax you spend on booze and fags in a way. Sort of a luxury tax, you could say
Well it’s all wrong and the government should using booze tax to open more proper pubs.
I wouldn’t trust any government to run a piss-up in a brewery… so t speak
To the best of my knowledge no one from Bath council is reading this thread so if you want to voice your objection (and what have you got to lose by doing so?) there’s a link on this page. The consultation closes on 8th August.
I have already completed the consultation form. There does seem to be a bias in the questions trying to get acceptance of the proposed plans.
typical council pouring god knows how much in this. The have not read their own questions as it asks if u park at various locations, u select never then it asks how long u park there.
I can’t believe such a consultation is taking place, motorcycles ease congestion which equals less pollution, eases parking issues say no more.
I dont live there but have left some string opinions to hopefully help those which do.
Obviously took advice from the Welsh Government on how they got “support” for their 20mph limit
Least the welsh advertised it. In england the disingenuous councils are slowly implementing them without any warning.
In areas that arguably don’t warrant it.
Update on the proposed motorcycle parking charges in the City of Bath.
Not completely out of the woods but a step forward.
BaNES Quote - “We want to reduce congestion, change behaviours and encourage more sustainable ways to travel”
I never park my bike in town - not with the scrotes we have around these days. Bikes have even been lifted from Fowlers car park.
We’ve just had notice that the capped bus fares are increasing from £2 to £3 for a single journey each. A bus journey into town will now cost us £12.
We never go into Bath or Bristol these days. There’s fuck all there anyway.
We’ve certainly changed our behaviours. Idiots.
