Try one of these to get those hard to remove old gaskets
Opens like a penknife
Then swivels round to make a scraper. Well good for scraping off old gaskets. Pukka, saves loads of time. It’s still annoying but makes life just that little bit easier. Available at all good tool shops (or amazionian if you are lazy like me).
