Hi from Nottingham, UK

Hey, everyone!

Been riding for 52 years now, but this is my first Triumph. I picked it up this week: a Bonneville T120 with the “Crystal White and Cranberry Red” colour scheme, which looks good.

But I’m far more interested in the mechanicals, and I think the 1200 HT engine is an absolute delight. And I just love the sound and can’t understand why anyone would want to fit aftermarket cans. Obviously I’m running it in and can’t open it up yet, but already I love the acceleration: any speed, any gear. Lovely.

Seven years ago I graduated with a BEng (Hons) in Motorcycle Engineering from the University of Derby, which was a totally brilliant course. Sadly they don’t run it any more.

Looking forward to learning from you folks, and hopefully contributing, too.

Hi and welcome.

Welcome to the forum, Steve.

Welcome, Bienvenue Steve!

Hello!

I was out with a group recently, and one guy had a Bonneville T100 - he had replaced the standard “peashooters” with (what we used to call) reverse cone megaphone silencers, they sounded fantastic!!
