How to do Assen

A conversation in the pub earlier about whether to go to Cadwell Park or Oulton Park for BSB this year was resolved by deciding to go to Assen for the MotoGP….no, me neither.

Anyway, I’m now looking for tips on where to stay, where to go in the area, good places to watch the racing at the circuit and anything else people want to suggest!

Also, if you’re going, it would be good to grab a beer!

Can’t seem to find them. Internet search just brings up forum posts. Also, we’re talking n the trip with non-riding friends (nice to have a support vehicle) so just biking everything ourselves.

We stayed in Zwolle which is a reasonable distance to the track but also is an easy train ride to Amsterdam

I like Amsterdam for the, er, canals. :innocent:

Tits Up Tours : Assen MotoGP 2023

Very pretty old town centre…

Four people, Two bikes and one car. We were thinking of an AirBnB somewhere. No doubt it’ll be busy as hell. It’ll be good to tick Assen off the list, though.

It will be - it’s the 100th edition this year…

Better get online and start seeing what’s available, then.

We use the circuits own website for tickets.

Our stand for the last 40 years has been the Winterdijk, just before the chicane. We’ve seen some proper last corner shenanigans there… We were also there for the Fogarty Pier Francisco Chile incident….

I remember watching that race on TV. Frankie was not happy afterwards. :joy: I’ll get online later and sort out tickets.
