Indian Summer - better late than never

Had a couple of nights away booked two weeks ago, which was supposed to be for a nice bike ride. But the forecast was sh1te (and unusually accurate) so we down graded to four wheels.
The promised Indian summer has finally arrived so yesterday decided to go for a longish bike ride. Headed up to Tavistock (via “Snozle”) for brunch at The Wharf Cafe beside the Tavistock canal. Then a pleasant steady ride over Dartmoor, sheep asleep in the middle of the road (they don’t move for anyone) and ponies abound. Turn left at Moretonhampstead and head for Bude on nice roads. Another stop at Bude for a drink at The Lock Gates Cafe beside another canal, this one the lock gates open directly on to the beach, apparently only two such in the UK. And then a blast down the Atlantic Highway heading for home, not forgetting to take in the B3266 one of my favourite roads for “making progress” (the 50 limit gets slightly abused )
200 miles on a single tank with SWMBO riding pillion on the Beemer.
No photos so it didn’t really happen, must be my imagination. :slightly_smiling_face:

That sounds perfect to me (even if it didn’t really happen ) - 200 miles on a tank with a pillion sounds pretty impressive as well, especially making progress!!

That’s to the reserve light coming on, may be 40 more left but I would be sweating. That’s on the more expensive E5 Shell V-Power which probably helps a little. With the panniers, top box and 20kg of “essentials” it takes a 10% or so hit.
