Le Mont Revard

My oldest friend (since 1983) Michael arrived on Thursday from Munich on his BMW 1100 GS to spend a few days around there. We are friend for over 40 years, both ride for over 30 years, but never rode together. We ticked that box. On Friday the weather was nice. After I get my new front tire, mounted the wheel around noon we left for a tour up to le Mont Revard, then down and made a tour of the Lac du Bourget, with a stop at Chanaz.

On Saturday thunderstorm awaited, we had some plan to meet some friends in Switzerland, we let the bike in the garage and took the truck.

Sunday, rain awaited, but we decided to take our chance and go for a 2 hour ride: le Col de Lescheraines, down through le col de Frêne, then a stop at Miolans Castle.

'picture taken from the web, we couldn’t see any blue sky)
The little twisty mountain roads were wet, and dirty (leaves, etc). We were cautious.
Time to drive back, and HEAVY rain starts.. 40 minutes swimming on the road.

But anyway, that was great, and my old ST 1050 rides better than ever. No plan to change..

The only issue is my left whistle that is still painful on long mountain rides with frequent clutch action. I should start to think about the common rider surgery.. But can’t do it in next months, as I have some music venues planned until september.

Nice to see what it actually looks like- when I went up there in September it was covered in clouds and -2C… :flushed:

Spectacular scenery and it sounds like a lovely ride together. Hopefully you manage to get the surgery you need over the winter months :slightly_smiling_face:.
