Luggage recommendations for 2025

Colleagues!

I want to ask for your thoughts on the best luggage options for my brand new T120.

I’m looking for a conventional layout: topbox and two panniers, no tank bag. Waterproof is important, and I want them big enough to be useful for a week away (almost always in the UK where I live). Just me, no passenger. Tailored soft bags for all three boxes would be great, but not a show-stopper.

So, what would you kind folks recommend here in 2025 for luggage? Please tell me your favourites (or anything you would not recommend). All thoughts and opinions are most welcome!

Knowing that’s it’s difficult to have proper waterproof luggage, I’d remove that parameter to have more choice. A plastic bag in the luggage will be really waterproof.

On my ST1050 I’ve been for a cheap solution, SHAD E48 semi-rigid cases. I’m still happy with those, but maybe not the style to put on a T120.

Wise words Hubert, ALL my luggage gets a plastic bag liner!

If you’re not dead set on panniers Kriega bags could be an option. On my Speed Triple I travelled with a US30 with 2 US10’s hooked on. That worked for me travelling solo around the continent.

After seeing one Kriega bag on Wim’s Triple, I bought one for my daily carry on, and still impressed with the quality.

Thanks, friends, all this is useful information.

Another vote for Kriega luggage. I have a US20 pack and it has stood up to a long day in pouring rain with no problems. Secure on the bike and good quality fittings all round :+1:

Got the US30 on the bike right now…

I also use the Kreiga US30 on the pillion seat as Vulpes above. I also use the matching Kriega saddlebags though they seen to have stopped making them now :frowning: They stopped making the large size I have some while ago, but now there web site doesn’t list the smaller one either. (Sportsbikeshop do list the ‘solo’ version i.e. single bag at a discount, guess it’s end of range.)

Here’s my luggage setup on a Spanish trip in May.

I hadn’t considered Shad or Kreiga. Thanks for pointing them out.

Here are the Shad on my ST1050

I’m on Shad hard cases, the quality is top notch and I’m running two sets of big and small panniers subject to trips as they both use same frames.
