Making the modern world

We spent some time exploring the Science Museum in London yesterday. One area has all sorts of of things from 1968 to 2000. I took a few pics. How many do you recognise, or did you own/use?

Lots of interesting stuff from back in the day

I still use my 1990s Sodastream, and most of those tools and coffee making items haven’t changed much (if at all)

Is that stuff meant to be old?

It is possible you’re living in your own museum.

My father used to have the Flymo lawn mower.
I suffered using it around the neighborhood to earn enough money to buy my first moped.

I’m with @Dave49 is that really all old. And as I remember most if not all of that stuff I hope I’m not considered old lol

We had our kids too early for Pampers. I remember the bucket of bleach smelling soaking nappies awaiting washing. I got pretty good with the safety pin, held the nappies up all tight and everything.

Everything is at least 25 years old. Some you may be able to but now but look closely and there’s a lot of dated technology. It’s easy to forget how much time has passed.

I was born in 1949, so I was growing up in the fifties, before all that newfangled stuff in the museum was invented. If I’m not careful, I’m going to start sounding like the three Yorkshiremen…

You’ve certainly made up for it since!

Definitely!! I still go into the garage every day or night (shift work ) before bed to look at my bikes . I can’t quite believe they are mine still.

Wanted one. Never got one.Had a Grifter instead. Sort of a precursor to the BMX but heavy and without the agility.
