MotoGP Silverstone 2024

I’ve just booked 3 General admission tickets. £95.00 a time for the Sunday only. Me and a couple of mates are going along. The 3 day ticket was £115 which was ok value but I’m busy for Friday and Saturday so can’t make those days.
Anyone else going ?

I’m not going, but thought I’d mention that for us armchair enthusiasts the GP is live on ITV this weekend.

We had a brilliant day.
Set off from home around 07.00 to meet up with a mate in Aylesbury. He has just picked up his Tiger 1200 after many years on sports bikes and he is still getting used to it he told me …
Well off along the A413 from Aylesbury to Buckingham we go and I would have said he was pretty well used to it judging by the speed we went…
Had to work the Speed RS pretty hard to keep up with him. That thing has got some shove…! It played with my OCD a bit as he has only fitted one pannier and the top box. I suggested it should go around right handlers a bit quicker than lefts but he seemed pretty unphased by any curve … and that road has a few fast ones…
Met up with our other friend in Buckingham and took it steady into the circuit , arriving around 08.00.
Parking was easy and well laid out and the digital tickets made it a breeze getting into the circuit.

We had general admission only tickets so we established base camp at Luffield Corner, expecting to be busy as it had been last year at their early hour but there was very few fans in place . This proved to be much the same all day and space was available at most viewing locations. And then, my two mates went a wandering , leaving me in charge of base camp.
I then get a text saying that they’d gatecrashed the Luffield stand , I was able to use our tickets to get in , so could I please bring their bags and coats up…! Apparently the view was awesome.
So I gathered all their bits together and wandered round the back of the stands only to be told “NO ACCESS with your tickets mate” …
Phone signals were pretty shite due to volumes of available band width I guess so back to base camp I trudged….
Oh how they laughed

when they saw me back at base camp…!
Long story short, eventually the powers that be decided to release access to all who wanted it and I ended up watching from more expensive seats than we paid for…! And it was a great view.

Awesome Moto 3 race .
Even better Moto 2 race and a good MotoGP race.

We stayed on for the Superstock race and had the stand to ourselves…

Great run home where I swapped the Speed RS and had a go on the Mahoosive Tiger. Not for me ….

But I can see the appeal on long journeys. The suspension had been set soft and it wallowed around a bit tooo much for my liking. Dave took my RS back to our pub and thought it felt like a toy…

A couple of beers / ciders and back home at 7.00 pm.

12 hours of brilliant motorcycling…!
