What’s your thoughts on the new bonniville line up for next year I do like the alloy wheels on the speedmaster personally I think they look better than the chrome that I have on mine
I prefer my Chrome wheels, and the seat on the new Speedmaster looks a bit funny shape wise. Though getting rid of the coccyx cushion is a plus (the piping dug into my bum until I modified the seat a little). Will probably try and sit on one if a dealer has one in, maybe seat is more comfortable and I could swap. The handlebar shape may be better than mine too. I had the Bobber’s bars from new, and switched to those from T120 with some risers, to get a more upright riding position.
Oh, and the bigger tank on the new Speedmaster is a big plus, only having about 130 miles range is a real pain. But the new tanks won’t have the nice paint scheme as the 2018 model I have.
I agree with you on the seat prefer the look of the older seat. there ok but not a great fan of the bars I have bought some bobber bars to put on to see what they are like did you have to change the cables
I test rode Bobber and Speedmaster before buying a bike and decided I like foot controls of Speedmaster and handlebars of Bobber. So I had the dealer put the Bobber bars on with their shorter brake line and clutch cable before taking delivery.
If you do go for the Bobber bars yourself with the Speedmaster cables you’ll probably find that as well as well as being rather long, the angle joints coming out of the levers will be all at the wrong Angle. (Speedmaster’s ‘beach bars’ come back towards you at about a 45° angle, which is why I hated them.)
When I swapped to the T120 handlebars from the Bobber ones, the cables were OK, but when adding later the Motone Up-And-Over Risers I had to make a custom clutch cable and brake line.
