New from Gloucestershire

Hi all, this looks like a good bash here. I’m a Northern irishman who has been in England for 35 years. Not quite long enough to support them in the rugby…!

I’m a return to biking - sold my ZZR600 30 years ago then bought a BMW R nine T last year, which is a real workhorse.

But that isn’t why I’m here… I’ve just bought a 1979 Bonny T140E. It’s been reconned 7 years ago and engine rebuilt last year and looks absolutely lovely. I couldn’t resist riding it before I’d fully checked it over - doh - and ran out of juice in 5 miles! A mile push to the petrol station and sorted. Back home I found the rear brake reservoir empty so that’s all filled and bled, oil levels and chain AOK, swinging arm greased and off for another go tomorrow.

I expect this to be a journey/labour of love but that’s the fun of it!

Welecome to the forum, @gasman!

You’re in the righr place for expert knowledge on old Bonnevilles. There’s even someone with an R nine T. And we still talk to him!
