New member, new Speed Twin 1200

Hello, just a quick introduction- I’m from the Isle of Man, have been riding about 17 years and have just bought my 5th Triumph, a Speed Twin 1200. My previous Triumphs were: Street Triple 675 (2007, in roulette green, known as the Flying Snotter); Tiger 800 (2012, white, Tony); Tiger 800 XC (2021, white, Twony, not a happy relationship); Tiger 900 (2022, black, not named). Hello and thanks for letting me join you.

I’m not the messiah. I’m just a very naughty boy.

Hi Manx,
I’m a new Speed Twin 1200 owner as well since my Thruxton 1200 got written off in Mar. So far I really like it, very torquey and solid handling. I kept some nice KTech shocks and SW Motech chainguard off the Thruxton and they bolted directly onto the Speed Twin.

Been thinking about the comfort seat but feedback seems to be it’s no better than stock which fits in with my previous experiences of Triumph seats.

I do like what triumph have done with the paint job on the new speed twin.

That’s a great looking bike Ozzy. I found my seat became less plank like as I put some miles on it. I’ve done about 2k miles now and recently spent two weeks on it every day, and it’s much more comfortable than it was (or maybe I’ve just got used to it!)

Thanks Manx,

I’ve done about 1600 miles but encouraging to hear you thought it improved.
It’s probably as much down to me 63 year old backside as the seat, should just ride it more like you have done!

Maybe I have more padding in my derrière than you!
