New old member from Yorkshire

Hi, I was on the old site and joined up to the new site, but up until last week I was riding a Ducati Monster.
Last Tuesday I picked up my new Tiger Sport 800 from A1 Moto in York and I’m loving it.
I have previously owned a Street Triple 675 and a Speed Triple 1050R, which I traded in for the Monster.
I have been for a few trips on the Monster, including a 10 day trip to Germany last year, and decided I needed more of a tourer, for long distance comfort and easy luggage options and the Tiger Sport 800 fitted the bill.
I’ve put 500 miles on it in the last week and it’s booked in for the first service next Tuesday.
It’s good to be back on a triple, here it is at Seaways on a nice sunny Monday

Hi and welcome back!

Welcome back, that’s a good looking bike!

Welcome @Parky
Good to hear you are back on. Triumph

Ey-up @Parky. Nice wheels.

Welcome to the other side :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
The new 800 certainly ticks lots of boxes and looks very nice in the black and yellow :+1:

My brother was looking a one of these and he loved it but wants to do some touring on it, but the only luggage options are triumph matched panniers and top box with triumph fittings,
what are the easy options?

Easy option would be something like Kriega - not cheap, but excellent kit and easy to fit.

Btw - I’m going to use a large part of the route you sent me for the 2020 GMU (didn’t happen, obviously) through the South of England/Wales when coming back from Ireland next month…

Thanks for the welcome from everyone.

I’m looking forward to putting some miles on it, I’ve got a 10 day tour round the Netherlands, Belgium and France with a couple of mates in June, should be fun!

I meant the Triumph luggage, the panniers are 57 litres between them, which is plenty for me and no messing about with extra mounting points

Welcome back mate. If your 800 is half as good as the reviews you are going to have a blast.

@Crispey or another option is some easy throw - overs that don’t require a rack - I have these https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/281847 but they have different sizes and leave room for something else to be put on the pillion seat if you want to carry more.

Looking good so far 500 miles in, it’s a great bike.

I’m still only using 6000 revs until next Tuesday, when it’s in for the first service, can’t wait to see what it’s like then!

@Parky welcome back in. Did the monster not tour that well?? I had a first series M900s and loved it but it don’t like 30mph zones so I went BMW boxer in the end.

It was OK for touring but there were no luggage options except some Hepco and Becker panniers that were quite small and a rack that replaced the pillion seat.
Also, I really like the Triumph triple engines, so the Tiger Sport 800 ticked all the boxes for me
