Catch up time again - the day after the Trough of Bowland trip in fact.
Took advantage of the proximity of Scotland from Bolton-le-Sands as opposed to at home in North Yorkshire. Just over an hour to Gretna by M6 and a bit more by my route on the A6.
Breakfast at the Old Toll Bar cafe
Followed the road through Annan and past Caerlaverock Castle, around to Dumfries and then on to a stop at the village of New Abbey.
This is the ruins of Sweetheart Abbey.
Carried on to Kirkcudbright and stopped by the harbour for ice cream.
Very enjoyable and the perfect riding temperature of 22 degrees ![]()
