Hi all, I am 6mths into my ownership of a 1999 Lightning yellow 955i Daytona and grateful I got to use it a bit over the summer. It took me about 20 yrs to ‘see the light’ and go for a Triumph despite having admired the model for years. Having started on a Lambretta 150, T20 (Suzuki 250 pre GT250) YR5 (Yamaha 350 pre RD) Honda CB500/4, Suzuki GT750 I finally got some sense. So far not disappointed, apart from the ride which is sports bikish, great to handle and sounding like a boy racer with an Akrapovič exhaust fitted, despite being 65ish and a pig in sh*te

Thanks Geoff, you are obviously a life long devotee, and that looks like it has been licked clean every week. Have you fitted risers to your bars? Was thinking about doing the same to soften impact on my wrists. If so can you advise please. Thanks

Hi and welcome, I do like a yellow bike.
I did a top yoke conversion on mine that was pretty straight forward and it has been a game changer for me and my back ever since. ![]()
I think some have used a T509 top yoke but I got mine made by CNC Top Yokes a few years back. The key to success for me was longer brake hoses and Renthal 754 bars that don’t hit the screen or tank.
