Out at last

And no, I don’t mean I’ve just emerged from the closet waving a rainbow flag.
All this nice weather has had me longing to get out for a ride, but all sorts of dreary house maintenance things have stopped me. However, this afternoon I got out for the first time this season. Just a local-ish run to check everything’s OK, but next Tuesday is looking good for a decent longer run.
Anyway, I headed up to Laurieston to my favourite hill road over to Gatehouse of Fleet. The hawthorn hedges on the lower ground are greening up nicely but the hills are still a bit bleak and wintry looking.

From Gatehouse I had a nice brisk ride to Kirkcudbright and took the minor road along the eastern side of Kirkcudbright Bay.

Getting a taste for the sunny seaside, I then rode eastwards along the coast to Auchencairn Bay, just a couple of miles from home. There was a strong breeze ruffling the water.

The bike ran strongly and sweetly after its long winter lay up, with no problems, and I can’t wait to get out for a longer run next week.
