Over the border

So here I am in Northumberland, on my own with nothing to do and it’s going to be at least 24 degrees and not a chance of rain . Decided I would follow this route from a book I’ve had ages, Great biking roads of the UK or something.

Well I did follow the main route with one or two extra detours thrown in. Have to say it was probably one of the best biking days I’ve had :sunglasses:

Alnwick to Seahouses and then on to Bamburgh

Detour onto Holy Island via the causeway

On passed Berwick-upon-Tweed and over the border for a lunch stop at Eyemouth Harbour. Steak and haggis pie from the excellent Lough bakers.

Headed up to Pease Bay before turning back towards Duns.

More food in the market square at Duns

Detoured out to Greelaw and Coldstream via the B6105 before heading back on the A697 to Alnwick.

One more stop at Cafe Maelmin on route.

Loving the bike, it could not be better - just have to do it all again tomorrow :sunglasses:

I hope you oil that chain after being on the beach! Glad you’re loving the bike, but then again, how could you not :grinning:
